The Second Chance Series and Soaking Worship

new-baby-blue-cover

I have written two books and took the risk of introducing something new to my readers: Soaking Worship. I tried my best to immerse my readers into it, but they still scratch their heads.

Unlike Mass, and liturgy, Soaking Worship hasn’t been part of church history for a long time. You might say it is obscure. The question asked is, “What exactly is Soaking Worship?”

My character says in a scene to her husband, “Christian inspirational music.” It is music that inspires you to worship. Of course, I’m sure all christian music should inspire us. But there is something about the music that just draws us into God’s presence. I read at website that it “Soaking worship means that we are simultaneously focused on both giving and receiving. At first glance, this appears to be a contradiction”  4 Benefits of Soaking Worship

So if you are of an older generation. please read up before you read my book. Thanks.

My Cat and My Characters

I post about my cat Henry quite a bit on Facebook. I’m seeking compassion and sympathy, but most importantly understanding. It is not happening. I can understand coming from another cat owner or lover how they would respond when you tell them the joys of owning of a cat, but when it comes to your expectation of  your cat, forget it!

“Cats are persnickety!”

“Mine likes to play with in boxes!”

“Cats are independent.”

And it goes on.

There are no woes from  my friends. I don’t hear, “Me too, Ruthie. I wish my car would appreciate what I do for him or her too.” But I get no sympathy. I guess they love their cats more than I love than mine. You can’t change them right? Cats are cats right?  You have to accept them the way they are. That means if Henry eats food from the floor its okay. If Henry rather   sleep on my  lap than in bed with me, its okay. Because he is a cat.

So here is my point. Read carefully. I am an author. I create characters. Everyone of them is unique. Just as the clay have no right to ask the potter why did you make me this way? Neither does the reader have the right to complain about my characters.  As an author. we give our character a personality and it offends me when a reader says that one of my characters is controlling when he is not. That reader is judging my character and I will not change my characters’ personality (just as a cat will not stop being a “cat”) just because the reader doesn’t like it.

So until my cat changes the way he isSANYO DIGITAL CAMERA, my characters will stay the same.
